InventHelp Inventor Develops Improved Hospital Bed-Gurney System for Patient Transfer (NJD-1961)

PITTSBURGH, March 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Until now, the only way to move an individual from a gurney to a hospital bed and vice versa was to lift the patient from one to the other. Thanks to the creative thinking of an inventor from Lakewood, N.J., there is now a much better and easier alternative.

He developed the patent pending PATIENT TRANSFER MATTRESS to ease the process of moving a patient from a gurney to a hospital bed, which eliminates the need to lift the patient. As such, it improves patient care and comfort and saves time and effort, reducing the chances of muscle strain for medical staff members. After minor hospital bed design changes and the retrofitting of existing beds, this design is effective and easy to operate.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "After my 325-pound father had suffered a stroke several years ago," he said, "I saw how difficult it was for three female nurses to move him from the gurney to a hospital bed."

The original design was submitted to the New Jersey sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
