Tindall Corporation Introduces New T-SLAB(TM) System to the U.S. Market

SPARTANBURG, S.C., June 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tindall Corporation has launched a patented precast concrete slab system into the American marketplace. Tindall Superior Lightweight All-Purpose Beam(TM) (T-SLAB) offers superior performance and constructability over both cast-in-place and hollow-core in a single, completely precast solution. This is the first and only slab system of its kind in the country, expanding Tindall's capabilities to provide total precast projects across a wide spectrum of markets.

"Tindall can develop nearly every precast product imaginable, but T-SLAB is the missing piece in achieving our cost-competitive, total precast system," said Greg Force, President and CEO of Tindall. "The system's benefits ultimately reduce construction time and costs, crucial factors to consider when it comes to choosing a construction partner."

Tindall is licensed to provide this flooring system in 10 states, including Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Florida Panhandle. Tindall's South Carolina Division starts production in June 2020. Its Virginia, Georgia and Mississippi Divisions are all expected to be up and running by no later than 2022.

T-SLAB capitalizes on arch design principles by using super lightweight concrete to serve as blocks over which structural concrete is poured, leveraging the arch effect translationally for load distribution, while capitalizing on longitudinal prestressing for total span capability. Several slab thicknesses will be available to achieve optimal spans in the range of 30' to 45', supporting typical commercial and residential floor loads.

The slabs provide superior fire resistance and sound insulation, while offering greater design flexibility and construction enhancement than other competing systems. The T-SLAB production process enables the inclusion of conduits, solid zones as may be structurally or functionally required, and holes for ducts and drains. When combined, these capabilities make T-SLAB a cost-effective and schedule-friendly system, ideal for mixed-use, dorm, multi-family residential, office or hotel construction, and many other potential applications.

The T-SLAB system provides a streamlined process for general contractors, project owners and developers, architects and engineers looking for a single source supplier to provide a total precast building solution. This type of construction benefits customers through accelerated schedules with fewer trades on site, creating less congestion and improved coordination. At roughly three times the width of typical hollow-core and with greater span capability, set-out times are reduced which further enhances the benefit of prefabrication.

The system technology originated at the Technical Institute of Denmark in 2014 and has undergone rigorous testing to prove its benefits. It has already gained wide acceptance in several European countries. Tindall recently obtained licensing rights from Abeo Concrete Technology to produce and provide solutions across current and new markets.
