U.S. Air Force Awards General Dynamics $34.5 Million Other Transaction Authority Agreement for Strategic Weapon Systems Prototype Development

Fairfax, Va. – August 23, 2021 - General Dynamics announced today that they received a $34.5 million Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Agreement from the U.S. Air Force to support its Air Force’s management of strategic weapons communications as part of increment two of the Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal program.

The rapid prototype development agreement with the U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is structured to allow the Air Force to quickly pivot from a successful prototype to full rate production. If a follow-on production contract is awarded, the award has a total potential value of more than $130 million.

“We are looking forward to partnering with the Air Force to develop this vital capability as we expand on our more than 60-year involvement in our nation’s strategic deterrence mission,” said vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Mission Systems’ Maritime and Strategic Systems business, Carlo Zaffanella.

“This contract will quickly advance and modernize the resilience and survivability that are essential for Nuclear Command, Control and Communications systems.”
