CESA represents the result of a Spanish Government initiative that arose out of the development phase of the Eurofighter programme to improve the international position of the Spanish aeronautics accessories industry. The original seed was sown by the accessories division of CASA, which became CESA in July 1989 pursuant to a share agreement between CASA and LUCAS Aerospace, both companies being highly renowned in the field of civil and military aeronautics.

In 2007 CESA further consolidated its corporate activities with the opening of new facilities in Seville, fitting out engines and landing gears (wheels, brakes, etc.) for CN235, C295 and A400M aircraft directly within the Final Assembly Line (FAL). Moreover, for the latter aircraft, CESA provides daily support for both Flight Test Centres in Seville and Toulouse.

CESA’s business areas are: landing gears and components; hydraulic systems; ramp hydraulic actuation systems; pneumatic and fuel systems; electromechanical actuation; services and R&D.
