- Maintenance Repair Overhaul and Logistics Support
HeavyAero's journey started in 2016, with a goal to someday become the world's largest Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility. After four years of working towards certification producing manuals from the ground up; HeavyAero Maintenance Centre was granted AMO Status by Transport Canada in February 2020.
As 2020 brought uncertain times to the aviation industry, HeavyAero maintenance was forced to make a pivot in business; and this pivot positively utilized their people resources to support the cargo industry that had seen a rapid influx in capacity. As aviation climbed out of restrictions and the world regained its love of aviation and travel, HeavyAero's many business seeds planted during 2020-2021 downturn had begun to grow.
In 2022 HeavyAero Maintenance Centre launched into full MRO; bringing regional aircraft into the hangar for full c-check inspections, and entering new 737Max aircraft into Canadian airline fleets. 2022 saw the team at HeavyAero grow and expand by over 400%; and infrastructure and departments grew with that percentage. Personnel Services now covered the entire country, with hundreds of contractors available to support our clients. Line maintenance had expanded to numerous cities within Western Canada, and regional aircraft now had full MRO serviceability within the Calgary, Alberta facility; with four lines of aircraft under the Heavy Maintenance regional team, and a line of narrow-body heavy maintenance at both Calgary and Edmonton locations.
As 2023 rolled in, their view continued to be on expansion. With line maintenance physical locations in Calgary, Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. HeavyAero now serves numerous Canadian regional air carriers, as well as carriers from Europe and the United States.
